You have got to read this . . .

By the way, I would have gone for the Snickers!

Iowa man fired for using forklift to get stuck candy bar from vending machine

What lessons should you take from this employee incident?

1.  You never know what an employee may do. Once you think you have heard it all, someone will prove you wrong.

2.  It is good to have specific rules governing employee conduct. But because you cannot predict what an employee may do, you should also have general rules your employees must follow.

3.  We recommend our 7 Rules. Employers say they cover every situation in the workplace. We add them to every employee handbook we create for our clients.

4.  Take a lesson from the judge's ruling and require your employees to act in your interest.

Do you know of a Stupid Employee trick? If so, please let me know. Lessons can be learned from each and every one of these incidents.
